The Menlo Park Police Department is inviting residents and community groups to participate in the Annual National Night Out event on August 6th, 2013. Not only is National Night Out a great crime prevention tool but it also helps residents build stronger relationships with the communities they live in.

National Night Out is an annual event where communities come together throughout the nation and residents host neighborhood parties, cookouts, ice cream socials and other occasions to show their united stance against crime. National Night Out is a great opportunity to organize a Neighborhood Watch Program on your street, create a neighborhood directory or email list for better communication, and generate a greater sense of belonging in your neighborhood. It is also an opportunity to get to know the people who live in your neighborhood so it will be easier to spot suspicious activity or strangers. More than anything, National Night Out is a great excuse for residents to come together and have some fun!

On the evening of August 6th, 2013 Menlo Park police officers, public officials, community leaders and volunteers will attend as many parties as they can between the hours of 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. By building stronger relationships between the community and law enforcement, you can build a safer neighborhood.

Please plan your party and register it with us at the Menlo Park Police website. We will be in touch with you on details for your National Night Out Party! We are looking forward to sharing the fun with you this August! Please "Like" the Menlo Park PD page to receive news regarding this and other events. For any questions regarding National Night Out, please contact Community Service Officer Gonee Sepulveda, at 650-330-6300.
